Home Made Pizzas

Home made pizzas are quick and easy and often healthier than shop bought or takeaway.

At the pantry there are always a range of bread items that can be used for pizza bases- choices range from pitta breads to bagels through to wraps. To make a simple and healthy sauce there is always an assortment of vegetables that can be used to make a simple pizza sauce whilst hiding away some of those vegetables that the little ones eat without knowing!

Ingredients

1tbsp of oil

1 onion

1 carrot

1 pepper

1 courgette

Tin of chopped tomatoes

¼ pint of vegetable stock

1tsp dried mixed herbs

Pinch of salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Fry the chopped onion for 3 minutes, add diced carrot, pepper and courgette and fry on a low heat for 7 minutes.
  • Add stock and chopped tomatoes
  • Simmer until vegetables are soft
  • Add dried herbs, salt and pepper
  • Whizz with a blender till smooth and use to make delicious pizzas.

Spread onto your chosen base and top with your favourite toppoings. Have fun creating fun pizzas with the children, see how creative you can be
