
A really quick and easy recipe to use up left over milk, the sauce can be frozen for future use.
Ingredients– Makes 1 pint of White Sauce
40g Butter
40g Plain Flour
500ml Milk
Pinch of Salt and Pepper
Method
- Melt the Butter in a saucepan.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add all of the milk allowing the sauce to thicken each time before adding more milk.
- Once all the milk has been added bring the sauce to a boil then simmer gently for 5 minutes and then season with salt and pepper.
- Your sauce is now ready to use how you wish in a variety of different dishes.
